Minor in Gerontology

As the population of adults who are 65 or older grows the need for professionals who with expertise in aging will continue to increase. The Gerontology Minor is designed to help fill the gaps in settings including: health care, social services and community based settings. 

The minor will give students an interdisciplinary, bio-physcho-social lens as they are prepared to work effectively with an aging population.

Career Paths

Graduates are prepared to work with older adults across a wide range of settings. Positions students would be eligible for include: case manager, care coordinator, patient advocate, activities coordinator, long-term care administrator and more.
